Iron deficiency can leave you feeling tired, weak, short of breath or unable to concentrate – and for some people, oral iron supplements may not be effective, suitable or well tolerated.
The SSMC Iron Infusion Clinic in Manly provides iron infusions for suitable patients with iron deficiency or iron deficiency anaemia. Following appropriate medical assessment, an iron infusion can deliver iron directly into the bloodstream, helping replenish iron stores more efficiently than oral supplements in some patients.
Our clinic provides iron infusions in a comfortable medical setting, with support from the experienced clinical team at South Steyne Medical Centre.

Dr Yliana Dennet
- About
Dr Yliana Dennett is an experienced General Practitioner with a strong interest in women’s health, mental health, chronic disease management and preventative care.
She holds a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and additional qualifications in Family Planning, Sexual and Reproductive Health, and Travel Medicine. Her diverse clinical background includes work in emergency medicine, hospital medicine, Flying Doctor Services, and in remote and Indigenous communities.
Dr Dennett has a particular interest in perimenopause and menopause care and is a member of the Australasian Menopause Society. She provides personalised, evidence-based care to support women through all stages of life.
Her services include IUD and Implanon insertions and removals, shared antenatal care, sexual and reproductive health, chronic disease management and comprehensive women’s health checks.
Dr Dennett is known for her warm, thoughtful approach and her commitment to building long-term relationships with her patients.
Outside of work, she enjoys the outdoors, the ocean and spending time with her family.

Dr Nikita Hostland
- About
Dr Hostland graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery, and holds a fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She also holds an Earth and Environmental Sciences degree from the University of British Columbia.
Dr Hostland brings extensive clinical experience to South Steyne Medical Centre, with broad knowledge across the areas of Indigenous health, family planning, and children’s health. Before practicing at South Steyne Medical Centre, Dr Hostland gained extensive experience by working in the South Coast Medical Service Aboriginal Corporation, St. Vincent’s Hospital, and various surgery clinics across Australia. Additionally, she has contributed to health research literature, including studies on skin cancer, nutrition, and prenatal testing. Dr Hostland has also been involved in the Mirage Rural High School Visit program, GP and junior doctor mentorship, and healthcare work in the Solomon Islands.
Dr Hostland has a strong clinical focus in women’s health. Dr. Hostland provides both Implanon and Mirena insertions.
Dr Hostland is also qualified to provide the yellow fever vaccine and has an interest in travel medicine.
Outside of work, Dr Hostland enjoys hiking, mountain biking, and spending time in the natural environment of the Northern beaches with her family.
Dr Vivian Chan

Dr. Vivian Chan brings over 20 years of experience in emergency medicine and general practice to the South Steyne Centre. Graduating with honors from UNSW in 1995 and a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Dr. Chan is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for your entire family.
Her extensive experience includes serving as Senior Registrar at Mount Elizabeth Hospital’s emergency department in Singapore, conducting overseas medical evacuations, and providing medical coverage for significant events such as the ASEAN Games, Youth Olympics, and the APEC Summit in Singapore.

Dr Freda Mangan

Dr Mangan completed her medical degree at Trinity College, Dublin in 2009. She first worked in Sydney in a hospital setting from 2011-2013, then moved to the UK in 2013 where she completed her GP training. Dr Mangan then worked in London as a GP for several years before returning to Australia and joining South Steyne Medical Centre.
Interests: Mental health, paediatrics and women’s health.
Dr Thu Linh (Lin) Ly

Dr Ly only provides Iron Infusions for her existing patients.
Dr Thu Linh Ly is a senior GP and is a graduate of the University of New South Wales. Dr Ly is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr Ly commenced practising in Manly 25 years ago and is a well-known family physician for many local families. She is passionate about providing care to women, children, and adolescents and is highly skilled in workplace and preventative health.
Outside of providing healthcare services, Dr Ly enjoys learning French and plays in the community orchestra.

Dr Leonie Janssen
- About
Dr Leonie Janssen is a compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive primary health care for patients of all ages. She graduated as a medical doctor from Leiden University in the Netherlands in 2013 and went on to complete her Dutch General Practice training in 2018.
Following several years of hospital and general practice experience in the Netherlands, Dr Janssen moved to Australia in 2023. She enjoys the breadth of general practice and is passionate about delivering patient-centred care across all aspects of general medicine.
Dr Janssen is committed to supporting individuals and families with their ongoing health needs, with a focus on accessible, high-quality primary care.
Outside of work, Leonie enjoys spending time with her two young children, exploring the Australian outdoors, and swimming.

Dr Jessica Lai
- About
Dr Lai completed her undergraduate medical degree (MBBS) at the University of New South Wales in 2011. Following this, she obtained a Master’s degree in Surgical Sciences from the University of Edinburgh and a further postgraduate Diploma in Child Health from the University of Sydney.
To date, Dr Lai’s work history has seen her employed in a number of hospital and GP practices in both regional and metropolitan locations. This broad experience has equipped Dr Lai with a breadth of skills including surgical, paediatric and obstetrics and gynecology which she is able to utilise for the benefit of her patients.
Dr Lai has recently undertaken further training in one of her areas of medical interest which is skin cancer medicine and dermatoscopy. As a result of this, she has been admitted as a member of the Australasian Skin Cancer College. To date, she has dedicated weekly sessions for skin cancer medicine and is looking to expand this in the future.
Dr Lai is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Mohammad Khalesi
- About
Dr Khalesi is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has over 17 years of experience in family medicine. He is passionate about delivering exceptional, quality care to his patients and ensures they benefit from the most up-to-date treatment with a warm, patient-centered style.
Whilst he has extensive experience in managing a wide range of health conditions, Dr Khalesi has specific interest in skin diseases and skin cancer diagnosis and management. He is highly skilled in performing advanced surgical excisions of skin cancers, lumps and cysts.
Dr Khalesi holds a PhD doctorate degree in skin cancer from Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane. He has published in various peer-reviewed international journals and has presented at international and domestic conferences. His published articles have been cited in more than 200 published articles worldwide.
Dr Khalesi is a passionate accredited clinical supervisor with the college of General Practitioners mentoring doctors in training, and has been involved in educating medical students at the University of Sydney and University of New England since 2018.

- About
Dr Mindy Da is a compassionate and thorough General Practitioner who provides care to women, families and young people. She has special interests in women’s health, menopause management, sexual health, mental health and travel medicine, and supports patients through all stages of life – from adolescence to midlife and beyond.
Dr Da has a strong focus on youth mental health and is experienced in managing anxiety, depression and video game addiction. - Eating, Hydration & Clothing
Unlike a blood test, there is no need to fast before an iron infusion. Ensure that you are well hydrated and wear comfortable attire, as this will facilitate the IV insertion. It is recommended that you bring a book or device with you for entertainment while your infusion is taking place.
